32 Vol.3 No.12 / December 2014 WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE BUILDING THIS MONTH WE WILL wrap up our recognition of homebuilders who brought their aircraft to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh for the fi rst time since completing it. Each year, those builders are rec- ognized with a Perseverance Award to acknowledge the work and investment they made to complete their projects. The Perseverance Award was founded by Doc and Buddy Bro- kaw (now deceased) who built and fl ew a Brokaw Bullet for many years. The award continues in their honor and to fulfi ll their wish that homebuilders be recognized for their perseverance. Over the next few months, we will share photos of several aircraft that made their fi rst appearance at Oshkosh 2014. — Mary Jones 2014 Perseverance Awards Celebrating more builders' success BY JOHN MANGOLD RV-7A, N787K V Peter Richmond fl ew his RV-7A to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014 from Annapolis, Maryland, where he lives on a boat and bases his plane at Easton/Newnam Field (KESN).
